I love soup. In fact, just yesterday I posted our favorite spicy chicken taco soup recipe. For some reason, though, I’ve always thought of soup as mainly a winter dish. On a cold day, I’ve been known to say, “It’s great soup weather today!” and I do have some particularly cozy soup recipes (did you know soup can be cozy? It totally can) that I save for when the bitterly cold weather makes its way through Texas.
But if I really think about it, the only thing that makes soup seem like a winter dish is the fact that it’s warm, and, um, 80% of the food I eat is warm. So, I’m vowing here and now to stop pigeonholing soup and to enjoy it year-round.
Especially since there are so many delicious soups out there just begging for me to make them. I’ve rounded up ten of them for this week’s Tasty Ten Tuesday, and I think you’ll agree with me that they deserve to be created – and devoured – no matter what the time of year.
